Multisite Support

Use GetWebP on WordPress Multisite with per-site settings, history, stats, service connection state, and credit status.

Multisite Support

GetWebP is network-compatible. In the free plugin, settings, history, stats, service connection state, and credit status are shown per site.

Table of Contents#

Activation#

You can activate GetWebP per site or network-activate it from Network Admin -> Plugins.

Per-site activation is easier to reason about for small networks. Network activation makes the plugin available across the network, but each site still has its own Media Library and GetWebP data.

Per-Site Settings#

Each site stores its own:

  • compression preset
  • AVIF setting
  • max-width setting
  • generated-file history
  • stats
  • service account connection state
  • credit status returned for that connected site

Changing settings on one site does not change another site's settings.

Batches and Credits#

Run optimization from the admin area of the site whose Media Library you want to process. Connect that site before scanning, previewing, or optimizing.

Credit availability follows the connected GetWebP account and plan terms shown in that site's dashboard.

WP-CLI Status#

Use the normal WP-CLI --url flag to inspect a specific site:

wp getwebp status --url=https://subsite.example.com

For subdirectory networks, include the subdirectory path.
