Output Formats

GetWebP primarily produces WebP images. Some versions may support related formats.

WebP#

• Lossy: Smaller files, good for photos and complex images. Quality is controlled by the quality setting.
• Lossless: No quality loss; best for graphics, icons, or when you need pixel-perfect output. Files are larger than lossy.

Choosing a format#

Use lossy for most photos and general use. Use lossless when you need maximum fidelity and file size is less important.

Settings are usually available in the extension popup under Format or Output format.
