Frequently asked questions about GetWebP

FAQ

Is GetWebP free?#

Yes. The extension is free to use.

Do my images get uploaded?#

No. All conversion is done locally in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

Which browsers are supported?#

GetWebP works in Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (e.g. Edge, Brave).

Can I convert many images at once?#

Yes. Use the extension popup to add multiple files and convert them in one batch. See Batch Processing.

Why don’t I see "Convert to WebP" when I right-click?#

Make sure you’re right-clicking on an image. The option may not appear on some pages (e.g. iframes or restricted content). You can still use the extension popup to convert files.

Where are my converted files saved?#

Usually in your browser’s default download folder. You can change this in Chrome’s download settings.
